Alden Hills Organic Farms was started in 2009 by Gary Powers as a way to provide quality beef for his own family. What started as a few cows has grown into a herd of 150 Belted Galloways, thousands of chickens and over 400 acres.
Levi & Emily
Levi joined Alden Hills in 2014 when he came on as farm manager. Levi is a self-described city boy turned Organic rancher. His favorite part of farming is morning coffee and the work challenges that change every day.
Emily was employed as a social worker until 2016 when she joined Alden Hills full time as office manager, farm market-er, and social media marketer. Emily enjoys being around all the farm animals and being able to work directly with customers.
Eric has been with Alden Hills since 2013 when he left his commuter job in Chicago. He manages the pharmaceutical herbs, garlic, and popcorn that Alden Hills grows. Eric enjoys working in the greenhouse in the spring and the challenges of harvesting the different botanical herbs.
Nathan has worked at Alden Hills for over 2 years. Nathan is the right-hand man on the farm and tasks include day-to-day farm operations. His favorite part of farming is working with the herd and getting hay in during the summer.
